1961 question???
Can I fit a 700r4 in my 61 apache. I was told that it might not fit because of the frame design. It currently has a 4spd manual (1st gear is granny) and i want to convert it to a 700r4.

Re: 1961 question???
You will have to put in a different crossmember... but it will fit...

Re: 1961 question???
You will have to remove the bellhousing crossmember. You may have to fabricate your own crossmember for the rear of the 700R4. It will only be a little over a foot long. since it will be right in front of the 'hoop' in the center of the X-member. 72bigred is putting a 700R4 in the '60 he is building for his wife is how I know.
