Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Complete brake job front and rear on my 1988 VW Golf Syncro. Also replaced the interior in it. Pulled the intakes off a BMW V12. That was a big pain. Nothing with the truck, everything is going good with it. For now.

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Nothing much on the truck. Plundered in the junkyard Sat. morning and scored some parts, headed off to a turkey shot that night a blew way too much money. Headed to the rifle range today and once again blew way too much money. Sucks when my shooting and truck fund are the same, gotta go work somemore ot to replentish the fund and start revamping the trucks interior.

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Spent most of Saturday in the garage pulling parts and getting organized for the upcoming V8 swap. A friend of mine offered his shop (and LIFT!!!!) when I'm ready to get'er done.

Worked on a Honey-Do list today.

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Thought I would spend a good solid day doing the flip kit in my 77..ended up taking two days, rust sucks! One spring had a broken eyelet, and half the bolts were siezed to the bushings...so I had to cut and coax the springs out. Ordered two new springs, sandblasted/painted the shackles while they were out, and rounded up all new hardware for re-installation. Teaser pic is with the truck on jackstands still, tire just sitting on the studs...just so I could see what it would look like.

I also picked up a Bennett 966 gas pump, will be restoring it over the winter.

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Yesterday I cleaned my daily driver. I hadn't given it the love in a long while so I washed it and detailed the interior. It had a couple of blown bulbs so I picked them up and replaced them. Met a guys and bought some equipment for work.

Today I worked in the yard till mid day. Cleaned, trimmed, pruned and bagged for hours.

After lunch I pulled my 77 out to start a thorough clean up. Decided to drive it instead. got back and let it cool so I could clean the motor. I got all the painted surfaces clean and started on the chrome.

I got most of that done and got called to dinner. After dinner my daughter was helping me back it in for the night and asked if she could drive it.

With her heart racing and her legs shaking she eased it out of the drive. We went for a back road blast and she came home smiling from ear to ear.

"Dad, I LOVE your truck" was all I needed to hear to make my day complete...

Excuse the crappy cell phone pic.

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Sorry Bob, I know how you feel. I've been dealing with a sinus issue this week as well. But I finally got to install the Magnaflow catback system I scored earlier in the week for my Trailblazer SS. I also installed the battery cable/ground kit from PCMforless and my billet catchcan from BilletPrototypes. Sunday I washed the shortbed and the TBSS. Also applied a coat of wax to the SS. Just glad it all turned out great.

Jeramy, glad to hear you got the catch can...

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

I am on call this weekend so I have actually been working . A LOT ! Our fair is this coming week and we have been extra busy with the goats . We have 5 and will be taking 4 . This is a job . Feeding , grooming and trimming feet , feeding again , changing out the water twice a day , walking them one day and running them the next , every day ,etc . These goats have been eating and living better than me . That comes to an end for them this week though . I am lucky that my aunt and uncle have been here helping with this project . The only thing I did truck related was get a look at the rear of the black truck when the garage was opened to get goat supplies .

Hey Dennis ,
I was sure hoping this was going to say " I watched the driver load Franks truck on the transport " .

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Took off door panel and pushed out pass side door dent thats been there for 25 years. Found out the previous owned never bolted the vent window in so I fixed that after 25 years. Put in new window sweeps. Got my dumbo mirrors on. Washed all the oxidation off, well most of anyways.

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Kept wrenching on the 6.2 in the 87. Starting to look like an engine again. Got the IP, LP, WP on, cleaned and installed intake and water crossover, new fuel lines, alt connector, now gotta install new clow plug bypass and redress the front and new heater hoses and ....
Crap, it' raining! But 20 hours of truck time in 3 days was a good thing.

Re: 9/20 Edition What did you get done?

Ive been trying to find time to put my exh back on the truck. I needed to put a hitch on a year ago and the exh routing made me cut my pipes to an axle dump. Never got done had to help a friend with her ford escape. 140k never had a trans service or a fuel filter. On the other hand got a set of wires and a rotor for the 383 for the apollo. That just needs a few more parts till the 383 lives again. I hope to do a little work here and there to the fleet before work every day looks like winter is comming early this year.
