please help bench seat to bucket seat swap questions
Hi i have a 1969 truck that came with a bench seat.
I have a pair of 1971-1972 style truck buckets that i would like to put in the truck 1) are any of the bolt holes in the floor re-used? 2) does anyone have a template for where to put the new holes in the floor? 3) what is the best way to locate all of the holes, based on answer to #1 (whether any of the bolt holes are re-used) thanks for the help tom |

Re: please help bench seat to bucket seat swap questions
My buckets were not from our vintage trucks so the way I did it was I found one hole on the seat base that would bolt up and have the seat in the position I wanted it, then I marked the others using a Sharpie pen.
I drilled holes and put plates underneath the cab in the position of the new holes to give more strength. I am sure others will chime in with the method they used. Danny

Re: please help bench seat to bucket seat swap questions
Dunno about our seats, but for my 08 silverado seats it was mock up (the center jump seat sat perfect on the center hump, so worked out from there), mark, drill, plate, bolt, done

Re: please help bench seat to bucket seat swap questions
You can use the original outside bolt holes from the bench seats. The inner ones will need to be drilled.

Re: please help bench seat to bucket seat swap questions
I used factory buckets in a bench seat truck. I was able to use the outer holes. Be sure to sit in the seat and put some weight on it so the legs will spread a little.
