Dash Question
I am trying to install a new replacement dash in my 87 1 ton. I ordered a oem style reproduction from classicparts.com It does not fit very well. Has anyone found a better replacement?

Ibought one myself from JC whitney by dashes direct . After I had it I kept reading bad things about this kind > mine was made out of urathane > came shipped with a board to keep it straight. Ended up selling it before I EVEN TRIED TO PUT IT ON . What Ive heard from the rest is that fellow board vender captkaos has the best oem replacement . Hard to come up with 400.00 or so dollars , so Im looking for material to cover mine > do not want a cap . Im sure lots of the others will advise you as well

dash direct sucks do not buy very dissapointing waste of 250.00

get the thin plastic dash cap, ive had the best luck with those. ive ordered many different dash pads and they have never fit.

Yo! FRANKENTRUCK sports a new dash pad just like my '76 Camaro, '66 and '68 Mustangs. Classic Industries is where I got the two for the Chevys, and California Mustang supplied me with the two for my Mustangs. I believe they are maufactured by the same company and all fit quite nicely,...almost as good as factory. Careful installation is important, but these dashes are obviously manufactured well. Urethane so they don't warp or crack with heat.
If I was searching for a pad replacement now, I would be contacting Captkaos! Board vendors HAVE to supply quality product because they'll sure hear about it from alot of folks if their product is substandard! And they back their products for the same reasons. A member recently posted about refinishing his dash pad but I really can't remember who it was,...try search. Todd.

I got an OEM pad from LMC. Near $400 if memory serves, but it fit like a glove.

1984 K20 350M engine with 465,000 miles. Well, it's finally done!! Almost 2 years of work, but it was really worth the effort. Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shot Jim or Paladin whichever you choose.
