Re: Disc swap track width questions

I know that the correct upper ball joints will press into the 63-66 upper arms. Will the whole 73-87 3/4 ton upper arm bolt up? The idea being that you could have newer style rubber bushings on upper and lower A arms, and the 2000 spindle and brakes bolt in, for a 6 bolt conversion, using a 3/4 ton donor.

"They dont press into the upper they bolt in.. " Yeah, i goofed. Guess I had the lowers on my mind. So the upper A arms can be used too! Thanks!

Re: Disc swap track width questions

The 3/4 ton LCA's that I've seen used the steel bushings on the shafts like the '63-'72 1/2 ton LCA's That's not to say that somewhere in the mid to late 80's they don't have the rubber bushings, I just don't recall seeing ones in those years.

Re: Disc swap track width questions

I just re-read your install instructions, So apparently they have the rubber bushings. I wonder when GM made the change?

Learned something new today
