Re: 6 lug disc w/88 and up parts
70Suburban...thanks for the email. You did a great job on that write up. Why did you cut out a coil though?
Captainfab...Thanks for the tip on the rear end. Can you reweld the panhard bracket onto the newer rearend to get the correct angle or is it different altogether? How do I do the copy/past quote thing you guys did when responding? Thanks for the help! |

Yes you can weld the panhard bar bracket on the axle tube of the '69 rear end. I didn't know if you had the capability of doing that.
What I did in this post is just click on the 'Quote' box in the lower right of the post that I want to quote. If you want to quote more that one, click on 'MQuote' on the first one(s) and then 'Quote' on the last one Quote:

Re: 6 lug disc w/88 and up parts
No, the 88-98 front suspensions are not a bolt-in swap; 71-87 front suspensions are. Any rear housing will typically work provided you have the ability to weld the appropriate brackets on to the housing.

Re: 6 lug disc w/88 and up parts
Again, no. The spindles can work w/the existing upper a-arms & 3/4 ton lower a-ar,s from a 6X-87 truck. That being said.... if you're capable of fabbing, anything can be done w/enough desire.

Re: 6 lug disc w/88 and up parts
When the time comes, I was also thinking of using the 88-98 stuff. Thinking there are more brake options with these years (??)
