What transfer case is this?
Can anyone identify for sure which type of case I have?..This question is spurred on by the previous thread and the answers with pictures that gentleman recieved..Mine looks like a 203 but has the speedo cable on the wrong side right?..Thanx in advance guys?

It's a 203. Mine is the same way with the speedo cable on my 79.

is this in your 86 well a th350 has a squarish pan with a uneven side a th400 has a pan somewhat like texas and a 700r4 has a completly square pan with 16 bolts the th350 adn th400 have the same gears and third is 1:1 but a 700r4 has overdrive

Thanx for the quick replies guys..ya this one is sitting in a 79 chassis with a th400..I thought it was the 203 cus of the shifter handle and no locking hubs on the front wheels but the thread prior kinda made me question it..DAMN!..hoping it was a 205..lol

Yo! That's what I inherited with my free 3/4 ton 4x4, and I immediately changed it out using the TH400 and a machined twin-stick NP205, combined with a Dana 44 with Warn locking hubs,...what a fantastic combination! Only better would be an OD tranny.
Sourcing the parts took me awhile, but now I know where the tranny output shaft can be got as well as the altered NP205 and TH400/NP205 adapter. IT WAS EASY! Todd.
