I didn't like having to reach behind the core support to get the nuts on the bolts for the braces. If I remember right there were some welded on nuts, but broke loose when I removed the cross braces. I brought home the "thread setter" it's metric, but it's the only one I have. It's great for installing nuts in and inaccessible area.



For those that aren't familiar with it, it's basically a rivet gun. Just don't squese (sp) til it pops. If you do that, it pulls the threads out. The nut sert is on the gun ready for install.

Arnt those called rev nuts Alan? not sure but we used them at freighliner all the time and they work really good!

They are also called nutzerts. Depends on who sells/makes them. I used them with penske and still do now that im with mack.. I have them in both usae and met

One thing bad about the Nutzerts is if they aren't put in correctly they will spin after a bolt in installed, and you have to cut the head off to take apart what ever it is holding. I've seen a few. What a PITA. Other wise they are slick.

I have not tried to find them locally. They are on ebay.

Shannon placed an order and this was my part of it. He's basically doing the same setup on his truck.



Here's the carb line installed. I guess I need to move my heater outlet to the other side of the intake. I don't have the skill/ability to route the hard line around the water outlet.

Things don't always go as planned. When I made up the fuel line the other day, I shouldn't have done the last bend. Lesson learned, have every thing in place before running hard line.

Yes, it is. My original plans were to come up to the back side of the carb. The line is about 1/2" off the top edge of the valve cover flange.

Been doing some horse trading today. I'll get some pics I hope by tonight. It's not another truck, but tools.

My Dad had a big lathe that wasn't doing me any good just sitting there. Tried to sell it for a while and this is what a guy traded me for it. It's all snap-on except for the puller set (Mac) and the welding helmet. Now I need a bigger compressor to power the blast cabinet. It never ends.

The compressor I have now is a single stage 125 psi. The one I bought that was missing the pump well........I sold it. The blast cabinet requires 100 psi 18 CFM.

I just got my 37deg flair tool from matco. I like it. It is a different tool than most. It has a tee handle that clamps down on the line. The flair itself is fluted. but it is a single flair. I havent found any double flair type. I think the AN and the lines from the ls1 will work with that.
