66 c10 rear end id

Anybody know where to look for the ID on a 66 c10 rear end? I thought it would have a two letter designation. I see some series of numbers , but no letters.

Ok,
I'm not home so that I can look, but I found this and thought I would pas it on for others who might be looking. I may have to use the wire wheel near this location.

Ahhh yes, that is what i was looking for! I though when I had the other six in my truck with headers, cam and dual carbs I laid rubber with both tires. The HA designation indicates a 3.73 Positrac

The HA is the gear code which is a 3.73.........I Don't think it has anything to do with positraction

Re: 66 c10 rear end id

I need to go back and look at it closer. For a c15, which is a 1/2 ton, 127" wheelbase I should either have a HF(3.73 excl. posi), HG (3.73 with posi), or a HH (4.11 overdrive). Obviously I don't have the latter.

That is of course, assuming the factory assembly manual is correct.

If all else fails, I'll go pull the cover...or lay some more rubber!!
