1956 core support
I have the core support out of the truck, I was wanting to cut out the 2 cross bar supports that cross in front of the radiator. Will this cause any issues? I want to put a trans cooler in that area.

I cut mine out, and I've seen others that were gone also. I'm sure it's there for a reason. But we don't use our truck the way there were used back in the day, so I think were ok.

oklahomaduner is building a 66 and they have the same thing in the rad supports, he just gusseted them for support. I would say thats what i would do. check his build out.

Originally it looks like they were used to keep the frame core support from moving out of squareand tweaking the radiator core causing leaks. That said I drove miine as a 4WD (see avatar I've had it much more twisted then that) with one of them broken off and did not have any problems. I got a new core support and kept them.
