hard rollin windows
'84 c-10 manual windows with new glass and scizzor mechanisms and new rubber, they were hard to roll down before and are the same after new parts.. its hard enough to where my friends can't roll them down and i'm afraid i'll eventally break something, any thoughts?

you need the panels off and just grease up the moving parts.
mine were the same way and now there smooooooooth youll see what to grease once your in there |

put the window down and squeeze some soap down the channels and some water or some really soapy water and move the window up and down, if it is still hard to move something might not me lined up right. if it is still hard put preasure on the top of the glass as your winding it up, try near the front and near the back, if one way helps the something isnt level. is there aftermarket door on this truck or the original, or if they are original were the bolt holes in the door ovaled

original doors and no they were not ovaled both windows are the same one is factory and the other is lmc, new glass in both

well like i said before put the window down and put pressure on the top of the glass or pull up on the glass as your rolling it up- front and then back of window- if it rolls better the the window might not be going up straight, since you replaced everything is it better or worse

you might have to make a new hole for the scizzor on one side so it levels out if that is the prob, from the way it sounds they were rough before with the old weather stripping and after awhile the wore the weatherstripping and they moved better, but after replacing them they got tight on ya, say you pull up on the glass near the front of the door and it goes real smooth, then take the front bolt out of the scizzor and try moving it up alittle and use visegrips or something to hold it temp. and try the window if it move smooth the you might have to make a new hole then

yes...... but befor you drilling new holes make sure this is your problem first, make sure the window rail is greased and the rollers are sliding too

they were when it went on and it was stiff then too your probably right about the alignment i'll check it next time its in the garage

I use silicon spray on all the glass and rubber tracks. Clean the tracks and glass first, load the silicon on the glass and tracks, let it dry and just clean the glas with your regular glass cleaner.

long time bump...
my windows froze up and bent one regulator into a pretzel in the fall of last year and.. i figure its better than starting a new thread, will 91 blazer windows work on my 84? i already have them i just wanna make sure before i rip my doors apart

Stating the obvious, but: I would remove the door panel and try to operate the window crank handle. You should be able to see what is moving and what is not moving. I had aftermarket window "run channels" installed in my truck and they were thicker than the originals, causing the window glass to bind slightly. After a few years they are wearing out and the windows roll easier (power windows). Also, a long shot, but the new regulators could not be installed properly - possibly tweaked out of shape, and causing the regulator to bind. Or, you might have the wrong regulators.

i changed my vents and windows from the 89 burb ,cranks from 87 burb to the 78 jimmy
pics link below what i noticed this summer in the heat is the inside rubber up against the window seems to have gotten down into the gap,and then it got (like i might break it) stiff like i push from the top of the glass when going down the 78 glass is almost twice as thick wondering if the 89 burb glass left a gap the rubber slipped into......

yep, thanks guys i posted that then switched out the glass, LMC glass is a different shape and curvature... factory works just fine now

To test that run channel theory, spray a lot of the clear silicone spray in the run channels (the clear kind), until the run channels are really wet. If it is tight channels this should help - you will know right away.
