Re: Straight six exhaust

I think most guys that want to do something run either a split manifold or maybe some kind of headers, usually with glass packs. I suppose you could put on some kind of turbo mufflers if you're afraid it'll be too loud, though. I know those old split manifolds on a Stovebolt sure sound great.

Re: Straight six exhaust

not sure what they would sound like on a truck. I had 3 chamber flowmasters on a 250 straight 6 in a 67camaro and it sounded kind of like a outboard boat motor?

Re: Straight six exhaust

i'm planning to run split manifolds on my 292 with one 8" cherry bomb. i got the tip from an old bomb drivin lowrider that's how they get that bich'n pop & crackle that makes the hair on your arm stand up!!! sweet!! oh yah he said the key to a good sound (loud) is to mount the glass pack as far forward as you can. i'll post a sound clip when i get mine done.

You better have some forgiving neighbors. I had a set of those...VERY raspy
Although.... they are not as hard to find as that guy would like you to believe in his add. I bought mine from a Corvette place.
