Re: What did you get done 2.14.10 valentines day edition
Saturday I took the 77 for a spin. The weather was clear and warmer so it was a fun drive. I went to a local muffler shop that does mandrel bends to get a quote.
We decided that a Magnaflow 5x8x18 oval will work best. I looked at their work on a 55 and wasn't that impressed. After I got my quote, I was even less impressed. Looks like I am back to square one on my exhaust. Sunday I ran calls all day. Called on some leads for a 12 bolt 3.73 gear set and locker, but they were already sold. Took Momma out to dinner and called it a day.

Nothing at all truck related. Still in the very early stages of a restoration on my 79 SWB, and I mean VERY EARLY.
Saturday- Rode the 2 hours to New Orleans to spend the day with some friends and family. Walked down Bourbon Street, now thats something everyone should do before they die is walk down Bourbon on Mardi Gras. What an experience. Sunday- Bought some flowers and took the GF to the Hibachi grill. Watched a movie/ took a nap at the same time. |

Re: What did you get done 2.14.10 valentines day edition
I finally got the truck to fire and run!!! The remanufactured Holley 1850 that I bought ended up not having the little c-clip to hold the float on and it was stuck and couldn't move. Then, when I used the piston stop to check my timing mark I forgot to rotate the crank back to TDC before stabbing the distributor so I was 180* off. Restabbed the dist. and tried to fire it up but I had a bent flywheel that kept hitting the starter. Put a new one on and fired it up and it ran!!!!! Thank goodness!! After all that I went bowling with the Family and now I am basking in the glory of my mini victory. Now I just need to get the driveshaft I have shortened and run my exhaust tubing.

Drove up to Richmond for my first car show of the year, waste of time. LOL
Continued organizing my brand spanking new garage addition. Met with an electrician Sunday, planning to upgrade my garage power to 60 amp service.

Quote:
Another good trick is to put the truck in neutral when approaching the stop, it will stop the truck from pushing you and prevent that pile up of snow in front of the rear tires. Enjoy it, we're supposed to get 4-6" today, it would only be the 3rd measureable snow for us all season. Sarge
