Raising up after flip kit?
I'm in between on which method to lower the rear of the truck. I have a 4" drop kit with the front spring hanger and shackles. If I take out the overload spring I may get a 1/2" more. If I go the flip kit I could relocate the rear spring shackle hanger lower by about an inch decreasing the drop or get a 4x4 rear spring hanger to decrease the 6" drop of a flip kit. Does this sound right, or has anyone tried this?

Re: Raising up after flip kit?
I'd say get some stock 2wd hangers and shackles, and add a flip, but first I'd say remove a leaf or 2

Re: Raising up after flip kit?
You might want to ask lolife about the 4wd hanger, I think thats the best way to raise it up 1" or so with the flip. Removing leafs is an easy cheap way of doing it depending on how much motor you have, if you have some power you are going to get a lot of axle wrap removing leafs. You can also get a lift shackle but I think the tallest they make are 1/2-1" this is what I did for my blazer but its still a little low.

Re: Raising up after flip kit?
axle wrap is when u mash the go pedal, the rear diff will try to spin as power is applied, when it breaks traction, u will have "wheel hop", caused by this condition as the rear springs try to bring the axle back to it's normal position. I have never seen it happen, but I suppose in severe cases, you could break a u joint, rear yoke, or even the leaves themselves.

Re: Raising up after flip kit?
You can flip the 2wd rear hanger to put the shackle pointed down. It was good for about 1"-1.5" lift on my blazer.
