Removing Roof Panel From 55-59
Is there a way to remove the roof panel from a 55-59 and save both sides? I have no clue how to go about it since the spot welds are down in the gutter.

I cut mine below the gutter in the back and drilled out the spot weld inside. At the front i removed the dash so i could get at the spot weld at the bottom of the front pillars.

Re: Removing Roof Panel From 55-59
Yikes. Sorry, I'm not going that far. Maybe I should clarify a little. I am looking to remove just the roof skin, but save the skin and the cab. Neither will be being replaced I just need to get the skins out of the way so I can start my quad cab project. I am not entirely sure if I will be using the roof skin from the original trucks but would like to save them just in case.

Yes there is. You can cut it right about the drip rails if you want to save your drip rails (I shaved mine) and just don't cut the inner piece.

That's funny, I notice Kabwe and JML55 both have 55 Chevy Belairs, or 210's in your garages.
Kabwe, I do want to save the drip rail, what do you mean by, "cut it right about the drip rails" Do I cut the roof panel, or the cab panels? |
