Should I even mention this?

Last night I was heading home from work.I get right in front of the local pool hall.Right then mid 90's grandam comes squalling the tires out of the parking lot.I hear some kid say get on it.(probably referring to the grand am and not me)Oh well.I am rolling about 20mph in 2nd.So I put it in first and mash it lighting the back tires up for 20 foot or so.

I guess that intrugied the grand am.Well he comes along side of me and I we play back and forth until we catch a red togother.I got my windows rolled down and so does he.He throws a rev and says oh yeah "2.3 dohc power"I say qaud 4 huh.He said yeah.So I watch the light and hold the clutch in.As soon as it turned I slipped the clutch out and had a pretty good launch.(best one yet)I didn't spin at all.But gain enough momentuem.I had him by about 3 cars when I shifted into 3rd.We had about 40 foot more to go and he started to catch me.I still got him though.

I know it is still a 4 cylinder.I understood these cars run pretty good for a 4 cylinder.Does anyone know 1/4 mile times?

It is the only thing I have raced so far and just want to get a reference as to where I am at.

Looks like 15.9.

So I am probably mid 15's?I bet that was with a good driver.I am not sure how well this guy could drive.

I would have liked to have gotten in the mid 14's.I am afraid I will grenade the factory 3 speed though.

Did these trucks use a different factory 3 speed than the cars? That little 3 speed saginaw with the shift shafts in the side. If so, I'd be scared of it comming apart. My 67 cutlass broke the case on mine one night when I was messing with it. Ripped 2 of the front mounting ears right out of the case, nasty.......but the 330 is advertised at 320 HP and is a little over stock.
