Radiator size
My 85 truck was originally a 6cyl and it has a 305 now, what are the dimensions on the V8 radiator? I think the one I have in the truck is too small and I would like to find one to replace it but I don't have something to go off of. Mainly looking for height, width, and thickness.

Softball, Chances are better than good the 6 cyl radiator will do fine with a 305 even if you push it a bit. If the truck has A/C that might not be true. With new radiators costing about $200 I would try it as is and see what happens before I spent that kind of money. You could put a used one in, but then have to recore it and your right back with a high cost issue. Just my 2 cents, Jim

Thanks for the advice and I plan to run it like it is for now but I have a 350 that could possibly grow into a 383 that I will be starting on after my buddies motor is built. I was just wanting the measurements in case I found something nice in the mean time that would fit.

Just get a radiator for a 454 truck, it will basically bolt in. For sure you will have to get new rubber pads, but you may also need a different top support (i'm not familiar with 81-87). Once you have these items though, the radiator bolts in and the hoses/lines match up perfectly.
When you go to the parts store, tell them you have a 85 Chevy 1 ton with a 454. Should be about $160ish. Make sure you get one that comes with a lifetime warranty as well and save that receipt. I got mine from O'Reillys.

if youre upgrading motors throw a four core radiator in there youll need it
