LT1 Radiator fit in a 63? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I've searched but to be honest I can't sort anything useful out of every thing that pulls up.

I have a 1963 C10 I've swapped a 95 LT1 into. I'm trying to figure out what route I need to take with the radiator.

I've read rumors that people are are using 95 Camaro radiators in the 67-72 trucks but I've measured and I'm not sure its gonna fit properly. With the larger inner fenders on my 63. I was hoping somebody here has already done it before I purchase a radiator although if I have to I suppose I can always return it.

Anybody have photos of my proposed set up already done?

I seriously doubt a newer Camaro radiator will fit. I dont know the dimensions but most newer radiators seem to be short and wide. If your battery is still up front your gonna be pressed to get about 27'' total width in there. I would go to an aftermarket unit. Summit has reasonably priced radiators and there are some name brands with built in coolers and so forth.

Summit radiators are Northern, I believe.

I am in the process of doing the same at this time... least till my funds get right and i can get back to building my BBC... I plan on using either a 3 or 4 core for my truck (64) or a 2 core aftermarket aluminum. hosing will be the fun part... either flex hoses or make up tubes and hoses to complete it. Hope this helps.

Well I went ahead and bought a 95 Camaro radiator. I'll bend up a steel top plate for it this week but it does fit so long as you move the battery out of the way. I spent most of Saturday making bottom mounts for it.

i put the lt1 in my 64 with the stock radiator and used a stainless hose kit worked out good

Blew up the straight six and happened to have the engine trans combo on hand already. 1995 Impala SS - LT1/T56 Combo. This is my 1st priority project.
