I'll agree with you on the tv part and it being a cheap radio. I'd get one that had graphics and colors and all sorts of things.

yeah, those big radios always are cheapy...they never have the same features as regular DIN sized head units, and they always seem to cost more. Woohoo a cassette deck!

Think I'd rather put a console in there....with A\C that area is cramped enough................
Then that screen could be put in also.........

Why would anyone butcher up a dash like that. To many other good radios out there to to something that ugly.

I wonder how hard it is to change to the record on that. It looks like it takes 33&1/3's with plenty of room.

The dash was probably hacked when he started...notice the recesed area is missing. There would be a bit showing around the edges.
not to mention the ash tray is missing. I see it as an example of a pretty dam good fab job. It look flawless. I don't like the stereo though. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 05-16-2003 at 12:35 AM. |

You can get some pretty cool double-DIN units...and if I had a badly hacked dash, I'd go with one of those proably before trying to fix the dash, just because I don't have any skills with putting metal back together yet, heh.

TV goes in the glove box, the x-box drops from under the glove box.
and the cell is a northstar system you just talk in the air LOL JK its a big hack, but if it works for you great, i cut a small chunk out for my radio about 5 years ago, before they had aftermarket units that fit in 67-72's. wish i hadn't cut it now... but no biggy Your radio looks great, who needs a ash tray/change holder anyhow

You don't even need a double din to have a monitor, i saw this one with a LCD screen that pops out of it, swivels in all directions.
One ugly radio though. |

Dubie, use a magnet from behinde. I used one of those spare key holders. Just put the magnet itseld on the delete plate and then when you have it in place, reach behinde and open the holder a little. It took me some messin with it, but mine didn't rattle at all.

Too bad there's not enough metal in that center section to install rackmount equipment!
