Re: 64-66 spotlight

All the NOS stuff is a mystery. Before I pass, I hope to have all my finds installed. Had a friend who worked for his small town GM dealer all his life. I bought etiquette tags to label what the used stuff was, he passed before we had a chance to. His wife sold off stuff by the trailer load. She crushed all the cars and trucks in the back 40. I'll have to drop by and see what's left.

Re: 64-66 spotlight

This is a unity bracket therefore it should have the universal interior bracket. the 60-63 had special GM furnished brackets ( not supplied by Unity, cast by Autolite) inside and out. I have no literature for the 64-66 though I have a couple of unity brackets like in the picture. Unity #187L. Should ask him for a photocopy of the template though.

Re: 64-66 spotlight

I could probably make a template from the hole in my truck.
thats actually all I need is the bracket, I have 3-4 unity spots, but they have the roof -top of it - style bracket.
do you have a pic of the universal interior bracket?
is that unity #187l still available from unity?

Re: 64-66 spotlight

On typical Unity spotlight installations not having the truck specific inside bracket, there is an angled rubber spacer that slides against the inside windshield post (or window frame or where ever the shaft enters the car), followed by a ring clamp that is in held in place by a set screw. In the picture below, the clamp is at 12:00, the rubber spacer is at 3:00, the ring at 6:00 has a loop that retains the wire after it leaves the handle, and the L shaped bracket at 9:00 is used to ground and anchor the spotlight shaft. The short end goes inside the square portion of the clamp against the spotlight shaft.

Re: 64-66 spotlight

http://unityusa.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=5 Skips after 184 to 189. Would you like the brackets that I have? The roof mount brackets would have the same interior brackets as what you need for the pillar mount. Do you have the exterior brackets?

Very interesting, no kit in the application search for 60-63 Chevrolet conventional trucks at Unity http://unityusa.com/application_search.asp
