Local car show rod run

We went to a small charity Humane Society car show today and had a great time. Threatening weather cleared up and turned out nice and sunny. About 60-70 cars and trucks and a whole bunch of bikes showed up. Nice crowd and an interesting mix of things to see. I took a few shots of my truck with the new spotlight installed.

Sadly, there was only one other 60-66 there, a 1962

There were also a couple of mid 50’s GMC’s, and a 58-59 Apache, and an early 60’s Ford gasser style truck:

There were a wide variety of cars and trucks including a couple of Studebakers and an early International, a Kaiser Frazer, a Henry J gasser, rat rods and 4x4’s. They even arranged to have a dragster trailered in, just to fire up to thrill the crowd. All in all it was a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Yes, they're the newer style that don't have the bulge ornament on top. It doesn't show up well but the part number on the plate is H1.

Mark,

Was the spotlight hard to install? I got that one off ebay and some time next week I will order the bushing that is called for in the drill process. The painted wants me to drill all the holes before he paints.

Any idea what the front bumper on the 62 came off of? Almost looks like a F*rd van.

Hi Jake, I sent you an email earlier with the thread detailing the install. Here it is:

Here's a closer look if that helps in the identification. At first I thought it was just upside down, but then realized the recessed license area was definitely not stock. Never got a chance to ask the owner.

Re: Local car show rod run

Thanks for the close up pic, it looks more like a bak bumper. Since it has a cut out on top, possibly for a light, and has no point to it. Our trucks look flat in front but really aren't. I was hoping it was the same bumper I planned on using, I'm not a fan of this eras choice of bumpers. Think I'm going with a 67-72 rear and a late 50s early 60s F*rd.

Re: Local car show rod run

Me too! I've never seen a gasser version of a Chevy/GMC, but I'd sure like to. Gassers have always been my favorite build style. Here are a couple more shots of the one yesterday:
