did the knob come without the chrome ring?
all I have been able to find is the deluxe, with the chrome, not the standard.

Yes it did, you can use a choke knob to screw onto the lighter element.

John,

I do this with plastic models all the time. Soak the plastic plated parts on Castrol Brake fluid or bleach, let soak for 24 hours and the chrome will dissolve right off, , might have to rub a bit. Try the bleach first as I don't always truck the grade of plastic, I KNOW that the bleach will not hurt it.

THEN if you're really a OEM freak like me, paint the know the correct shade of grey as GMC had.
