Accelerator Pedal Travel

Just installed a carpet kit yesterday, it looks great, but I don't have full accelerator travel. Only opening up about 1/2 to 3/4 full throttle. What is the best way to increase this and get back to full use of my 292. Thanks, taclem

Stock or aftermarket pedal? Most aftermarket have spacers you can purchase to lift it up of the carpet 1/4" - 1/2" and get the travel back.

Re: Accelerator Pedal Travel

Shorten your throttle rod, assuming you have a somewhat stock set-up.

Re: Accelerator Pedal Travel

Would that not be to lengthen the rod as to push the gas pedal back and rotate the carb linkage more?

To push the gas peddle back, you need to shorten the rod, pulling the link forward in the engine compartment and pushing the peddle out in the cab.

I'm thinking of my Quad BBC combo, I guess it depends on where it hooks to the carb.
