Let there be light! Under dash lights

I had some time to install these under dash and glovebox lights. I highly recommend you install these, they light up very nice.

Nice! I like the location for the transfer case instructions. Is that normal? I've only seen them on the outside of the glove box before.

Thanks. No not normal, I just like the decal but didn't want to put it outside.

Re: Let there be light! Under dash lights

Very nice. I need to do that to mine. I bought the under dash harness/sockets when I first got my Jimmy but never put them in. Can you post the connections required for the lights? Were on the fuse panel did you connect? Do the lights go on when you open the doors? What is required for that?

Pretty much everything was missing/kaput in my Jimmy so I have to trace everything down.

Thanks

Re: Let there be light! Under dash lights

I did not want to install aftermarket door switches, one option I did not have was the factory switches. I just wired it into the existing orange and white wires that go to the top light. It is the inside light connected to the harness on the side of the single wall top. I simply spliced it to the driver side bottom corner orange/white wire. To turn them on all I have to do is turn my headlight switch to the left and I have light.

Re: Let there be light! Under dash lights

I agree, under dash lights are nice. Got mine installed late last year. Found some door pins on a buddy's parts truck and wired them in. So I have them hooked to the door pins and the headlight switch.

Re: Let there be light! Under dash lights

NICE! I doubt you ever put your top back on, but will all the lights work together or do the top lights only come on with the dash switch? I have never been around a single wall with functioning lights to know how its supposed to be.

Re: Let there be light! Under dash lights

Thanks, yes the top light only comes on with the dash switch, they all come on now. With the damn heat and humidity I've actually considered putting the top back on because I have ice cold A/C. I love the top off but I hate the humidity.
