Painting stock grille and bezels

So I'm getting tired of the stock grille and until i get a billet one I'd like to try something a little unique.

I've seen pics of guys painting or "blacking out" the stock egg crate 81-87 grille and headlight bezels. I like the look and was wondering if any of yall have any wisdom to share on the subject such as type of paint, painting techniques, pictures, etc.

You can use red scotchbrite to scuff up the surface and then use some Sem Solve or mineral spirits to clean it up and then use Sem Landau Black Color Coat. That'll give it a nice satin black finish.

As stated above, use a scotchbrite pad to scuff it up well. Then hose it off and let it dry. I used Dupli-color's ADHESION PROMOTER part # CP199 on mine then hit it with some Duplicolor semi-gloss black paint #DA1603 a couple of years ago and except for a few bug impacts and minute rock chips it still looks pretty good.

I've also used the same adhesion promoter to paint all my interior plastic trim in my burb.
