Re: lookin for opinions

I'd keep the dodge or if you wanted a project truck, swap but make him give you some boot do not trade even, at least the dodge runs/drives, the chevy don't.

Re: lookin for opinions

Bad deal on your part. The only thing that I know "bad" with the dodges are the front axles. That chevy looks like it's going to be a lot more work than it's worth. I would never give up a good running truck to get a truck that has stuff wrong with it, and that you can't even test drive before you buy it. STAY AWAY!

Now if you really want the chevy, do the trade, with some cash and yeah try and get the crew cab with the deal. And have the guy pay for the tow to your home/shop.

Re: lookin for opinions

thanks guys, actually totally different opinions then i thought. im gonna go look at the truck tonight, see how rough it is and all. The guy says it drives just the trans slips. so im gonna drive it and atleast get a feel for the brakes, front end, and all that.

ill let ya know what i end up doing, askin for cash might not be out of line.

the only reason i am wanting to trade is i bought that dodge for 700 bucks and but about 500 into it to get it were its at, so to me its just a 1200 dollar truck, and i wheel alot and the long wheel base just is not cutting it for me, i originally looked for a blazer but they are all way to rust around here.

i like this truck for the reason it is a bbc, short wheel base, i have alot of parts laying around for chevys, and this is my first dodge so not alot of parts.

we will see, anything to look out for guys?

thanks

Re: lookin for opinions

Hope you have another truck to drive while you spend a long while getting the chevy all fixed...

Oh, and a money tree in the back yard.

Update: Never-mind, if the Stingray, Harley, and the "stroker" are all yours. I'd say you know what you're doing.

Re: lookin for opinions

It really depends on what you want. If you can make the right deal, I'd trade the dodge too. The half ton dodges like that don't seem to be worth much right now. Which is a little crazy in my mind. But i guess there are a lot of them out there too. That SWB could be a nice trail rig for sure. Atleast it already has a BBC in it, a lift, and some decent tires. That truck might just clean up pretty decent by looking at the pics.

Re: lookin for opinions

lol thanks man the harley is mine, i painted it about 3 years ago, the stroker is now a built bbc with a blower (you cant check out my build) i also painted it and built the motor trans and rear end, in my garage not out of my checkbook.
the stingray is mine and my old mans car, we have about 6k in suspension work, and it has my old 383 stroker. you wouldnt tell by the paint tho.

i must ask what are the opinions coming from. to me it doesnt look rust at all, no real body damage except that on beside, which i can find in a junkyard cheap around here. to me the paint looks like it will clean up nicely, i have pics of the floor boards and rockers and tehre is no rust whats so ever.

i dont know i guess i have been lookin at alot of blazers this body style lately and they are completly rusted, so i thought this body looked great, along with a bbc, and 35s, I have a 700r4 and 208 transfer that are in great shap sittin in my garage.

Re: lookin for opinions

I would have to agree with those saying to keep the Dodge. The Chevy might make a nice "project truck" but you will be having to put a lot of time and $$ into it, and be prepared to have another vehicle to drive while you work on it. Looks like it most likely has been rode hard and put up wet. You can bet there is more than just cosmetic work involved. I do agree that the swb and 454 has an appeal, but friend it looks like a long trip to get her back in shape.

Re: lookin for opinions

for me its because it looks like it has been sitting there for a very long time
that can mean seals maybe leaking, brakes shot, brake lines, brake hoses, maby a tire if the front driver side wont hold air for being flat and maby cracked, Bad transmission and just looked very beaten up
