Back Home, Guys
Long story short, I'm back. Pulling the '63 Rat off of the hill as soon as the temps around here drop down a little. I'm truckless right now except for this '63.......So that's what I'm going to be working with. Longie with wood bed about half there. 327 coated in grease. She was running and I put Stabil in a year ago. When I went up to start her about three months ago, the twigs fell down on the exhaust and almost started the neighborhood (we live in a rural place) on fire before I got my fat body underneath and batted out the weeds. Broken windshield, more rat poop, and really crusty brakes. But it's a start.
Glad to be home with you guys.

Re: Back Home, Guys
Thanks.....Had to give away the '83. California smog. Can't even put headers on it or change carbs without a special dispensation from the Pope.
That, combined with a motor builder that over-cam'ed it. I sold a nice guitar to have a 350 built and put in the '83 with the promise it would smog. Well, first it had to run without leaving me in the street every time I drove her....or my wife went for garden supplies. The mechanic, with all his gauges, experience, etc., was stumped. I went up there to see what he was doing after 3 months and the thing was nasty and he had pulled out all his hair. So, not wanting a $1,500 bill from him in the near-future, I gave it to him. That's life. I'd rather have something without a "brain"....somehow, it feels closer to "home". Nice to be back with you guys (and girls?). I can never keep the grease out from under my fingernails. Even at 63. Hey! I'm 63! The truck's a '63! Never thought of that. Better hurry and get it on the road before I turn '64.
