Question Does anyone remember this?

I've encountered that common 57 Chevy truck situation called "I've got more rust than I thought", LOL.
Three or four months ago, about the time I got my truck, someone posted a link to an article about replacing the lower door hinge panel and the inner and outer lower front cab corners. It was one of the best "how to" articles I've seen. I think it was done by a restoration shop somewhere. Anyone remember the link and still have it? I've been searching for it but can't find the exact article.
My door post is fine but I will need to replace the two inner panels on the driver side and want to have that article for reference when I start.

Re: Does anyone remember this?

I have now bookmarked those but I don't think that's the ones I was looking for. Look at the last frame at this link:

http://www.webrodder.com/article.php...5&SID=60&CID=7

The caption beside the picture says that the rusted parts behind the hinge piller will be replaced next. Those are the parts that I will be replacing and the link I saw before had a very detailed set of pics and write-up on replacing those.

Here is another part to the series....Hinge Repair. Actually there are several parts to that one. It goes A-H click here then scroll down and look to the right as you scroll, you will see an All Tech Article box, scroll down thru that and you will find what you are looking for, it is in alphabetical order.

Re: Does anyone remember this?

Thanks for the info. Fortunately I don't have to replace the hinge panel, just the inner and outer hinge covers. After watching the articles it doesn't look like it will be too difficult. That will be my next project after I finish my disc brake and power steering upgrade.

Its not hard to do. You just need to work slowly, make sure everything fits before you tack weld. Don't try to weld beads , just do spots in a row about every inch or so and once it cools go back and do in between and repeat.
