Gauges - Aftermarket and easy to hook up?
Hey guys...
i was wondering about some gauges, small ones to just mount to the bottom of the dash in a set that would be easy to wire up....my wiring skills are not the best and im looking for some i can wire up using the wires from the S10 running into the gauge cluster..... does anyone have a write up describing what color wires are what that run into the gauge cluster on a 1996 4.3L S10? I could wire it up if i knew what went where...but i cannot find a diagram or write up on them....thanks guys....gotta get me some gauges sometime!! |

I used AutoMeter and would again in a heartbeat.
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=269446 I put them in the original holes. GM wiring harnesses are pretty standard on colors so if you can find a basic diagram, you might be OK with that for a start. Make sure your gauges are electrical and not mechanical to use the harness but you could get by pretty quick with some standard oil & temp mechanical gauges and then all you'd have is the lighting to hook up. |

Thanks Dan! I will check into those in the near future and see if that is something I can get around to doing! I like those in the write-up a lot!
Also just wanna see if anyone has a diagram of the harness with colors online so that i could print it off and use it to go by..makes this country boy's job so much easier! Last edited by 53GMC; 09-01-2010 at 08:47 AM. |

I know they are out there. They are pretty GM standard. I just don't have one. Google?
