57 rear end upgrade
just got a 57 3100 stock frame and suspension and want to upgrade it this winter.Looking at the mustang II front end kit and power steering, whats a good steering box to use?Second question what rear end should i use to change over to 5 lug pattern?Truck has a 327 in it 4 speed which i will change over to auto like a monster 700R4.Not looking to drop the body i like the stock height as far as the suspension.Any ideas or photos of upgrades would be much apreciated.

Re: 57 rear end upgrade
Doesn't your M-II come with a R&P?
4-3/4" or 5" bolt circle on the rear? I assume you want the rear to match whatever b.c. you are running on the front. Ray |

I don't think I have ever seen an MII that doesn't have an MII or Tbird rack.

Welcome to the forum. The search feature is your friend, lots of info here on Mustang suspension. Here's a good link to get you started on rearend widths
http://www.chevytrucks.org/tech/ifs&rearend.htm (it's from another forum but good info)

Re: 57 rear end upgrade
Thanks for the info, the mustangII i plan to use the power r&p so i can remove the steering box.The rear i want to stay with a chevy with the 5 lug matching the front end.Would like to buy a whole new chassis but they run about 10-12K the MII front suspension cost 2K alot cheaper.
