Questions concerning a 59 ONE TON
Can someone give me information about a 59 one ton? Are they good trucks? Are the motors goods (235). The rear end of the one I'm looking at is 5:13. Is that real slow? What would the mpg be on this truck?
Any other help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe |

Re: Questions concerning a 59 ONE TON
Hey Joe, I'd say everyone here will say that truck is a great truck.
The 235 IMO is one of the best motors ever built. The 5:13's won't be real slow, it will be REAL SLOW. You'll never see an interstate with it.

Re: Questions concerning a 59 ONE TON
I had a 4.56 rear in mine before I converted to 4wd. It would climb a tree in granny gear but maxed out at 50 on the highway with the camper. No tach but the 235 was humming.

Great truck! I would find a later model 1 ton 4.10 rearend, easy install. The 235 works good with the 4.10 ratio.
