I sandblasted the grill support today so I can mount my tranny cooler later this week. After today I remember why a few years ago when I sandblasted my frame I swore to every person I knew I'd never sandblast anything again. It wouldn't be so bad if I could get the stuff to work, but I blast for 40 seconds, work on the blaster for 10 minutes. I never could get the right pressure, so I had to spend twice as much time doing it, couldn't find any gloves, so had to hold the pieces bare handed (OUCH!!!!), plus sand hittin my eyes at 150psi.

Sorry, just needed to vent a little!

YOUCH!!!!
We have a blast cabinet at the shop...really kics butt.
Too bad I can't fir real big items in there though. A wheel is about as big an item I can do.

Yes I've learned that lesson in futility and I almost did it to myself again as you did.

Yep it does suck when you dont have the right equipment. Been there done that. I have to blast my cab later this month not looking foreward to that !

Well actually I should say I know have a fresh air unit I can use along with a painting hoody. That setup along with gloves works great.

Ahhhh... Nothin' like shakin' the sand out of your ears, huh?
I built an extension handle for mine so I can stand back about 2' further and I still get sand all over me, in my pockets, hair, ears, etc.

Get a full face shield, they help a lot, especially with safety glasses inside them.
Blastin' w/o gloves? Yeah, been there, did that! You wouldn't realize you could remove that much skin that quickly unless you experienced it first hand!
