Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
That is a great answer. Loosen your hinge bolts on the door and slide the door in some. You'll have to play with for a while to get it straight. The bolts on the door go in and out. The hinge bolts on the body go up and down.

Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
thats how we made em....
2 fingers is tight.... those 2 helped me out alot. doors almost perfect now. ill try and mess with the bolts tomorrow and see what happens... although to me the rest of the door looks like it lines up pretty good. up top, along fender etc. i did look at 2 bolts on the door area and noticed a color change, as if they may have been in one position at one time and now are at a different one. thanks for replies guys. |

Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
2 fingers that spread apart is not tight in my book... lol
Also you might want to try and pull the top of the door inward with leverage. If the door is good everywhere else, I know that works for small gaps, but not sure about that gap.

Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
Do the body lines line up with the rest of the cab? I bet the bushing in the hinges are shot (or gone)...

Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
i messed around with it a little today. just loosended bolts and pushed and pulled door around. i was able to close the gap up top a bit, but then the lower end of the door near bed, was out....i played with it a bit, then was time to eat so i called it a day.
i am able to close gap up top....the one in the pics, but then the other end is out. might need more time playing, loosen, tighten, loosen tighten.... i dont think doors are old tho Last edited by old Rusty C10; 11-05-2010 at 06:37 PM. |

Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
I had the same problem after i changed my door pins. it's just a matter of getting the top pushed in just a little to close the gap.

Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
It will probably help to remove the door striker while doing all the lining up.

Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
It makes it a lot easier open and closing the door. You'll know when you get right. Then put the door striker back on and try it. Adjusting doors is a pain, guaranteed.

Re: why do my fingers fit in here??
Get your body lines right, then pull the top of the door in.
