Do these cab mounts need to be repaired??

Hi,

just got my frame back from the sandblaster and saw my cab mounts (rears) looked like they had a bit of cancer there.

The edges are quite thin & sharp....I'm wondering if I need to build these up or cut them out and weld new ones/patches in or is it okay as is?

Thanks!

Might as well fix it while you can. Weld in a square piece and cut new hole just make sure you measure twice cut once or have a professional weld it for ya shouldn't cost too much.

For sure fix it now. I had the same issue on my 76. I took the mounts off my 83 parts truck and swapped them out. The difference is now the hole diameter is smaller so....... I buy newer front mounting hardware or massage the hole to accept the older style.

Here's an ad on eBay to give you an idea how to fix it pretty easy, probably a good hole saw between 3-4" would do the trick:

repair
