Yet another Gauge cluster question...
ok, so i was playing around with the gauge cluster today trying to add a small custom touch to the gauge faces by adding the white face gauges with blue led bulbs that one of the members here recommended awhile back.
here is my question: What does the wire that is attached to this bulb plug into???

Re: Yet another Gauge cluster question...
That "WIRE" is actually a clear piece of somewhat flexible clear plastic that has a black sheath over it. And what it's for is the "FIBER-OPTIC" light for the ashtray. If you were to pull the bulb out of the base and then tape the base face to face tith a small penlite flashlight, turn it on and look at the end of the fiber optic filiment you'll "SEE THE LIGHT"
Don't smoke or use your ashtray for anything? then don't worry 'bout it.

Re: Yet another Gauge cluster question...
thanks alot ble 'burban!
@78cheyenne292- check your harness that connects to the stereo. Sometimes if you cut the wires to connect an aftermarket stereo you'll have that prob. Also, have you removed the bulbs to check if they"re burned out? Also could be a bad contact on the "green and copper thingy" on the back of the cluster .

Re: Yet another Gauge cluster question...
yeah i checked the bulbs they look good.. the guy i bought the truck off of installed the last stereo and obviously didnt no what he was doing. there wasnt a stereo in it when i got it just a mess of wires (a real big mess) the hole wiring on the truck was junk.. i rewired a new deck in completely independently so what wires should i look at for the dash. i have a stray power wire coming from my fuse bocks with a snap connector its only about 5 inchs could that be the power wire for the cluster.. what wires should i look for and were do they plug into the cluster for the lights.. thansk for the help guys.. dont wanna get a speeding ticket at night haha its only a inline so that shouldnt be much of a concern anyways haha..

Re: Yet another Gauge cluster question...
LED bulbs aren't like incandescents, they have a power and a ground, check to make sure the bulbs are in the right "direction"
