Re: Cab differences???
Ok as promised I have pictures. After long inspection all I have found different in the cab is there is no hole for wiper controls (no big deal), the floor hump is different and the dash has a few extra holes but the 77 dashpad will fit so will the cluster. The wiper set up is different but not in any crazy way. Here are the pictures.

Re: Cab differences???
Well, ok,,, i can see in your picture that the ear for the top front fender mount is not on your newer cab, neither is the rear hood support. compare your old cab cowl with the new one. it only matters if you are going to use the older front fenders/hood with the new cab

Re: Cab differences???
Come on, of course it could be an 88 cab, could be a 88 R30 or V30 cab. Its not the 88 C or K cab though.
And by the way, that cab is in great shape now matter what it is!

Re: Cab differences???
Yep! And it is a nice cab! May have been a 1 ton service vehicle, judging by the yellow paint.

Re: Cab differences???
There were NO square body LD regular cabs made after 87, they were all crew cabs. C/K is for 73-86, R/V 87-91...when referring to square bodies.

Re: Cab differences???
Well they did make square body reg cabs after 87 in Mexico tho. But I would not think that is one.

Re: Cab differences???
I do live in San Diego so maybe it is a Mexican cab. I understand that there may need to be some adjustments to fit the hood and fenders but I think it is do-able.

Re: Cab differences???
I want to see this said ear for the older style front fender mounting anyone have a pic?
My question would be what front end are you going to put on this cab the older pre81 front? If so then as mentioned the linkage for the wipers is shorter post and the holes that mount them don't line up, hole in the dash for the switch, floor mount dimmer switch? our 76 had that and 84 is on the column switch. That's all that I know of other then just the front clip which I thought worked fine on the newer cabs, I thought the biggest thing was if you had an old cab and wanted a newer clip you had to cut holes and such. I thought an old clip on a new cab was a bolt on deal. Minus of course the wiper linkage. You guys have me curious now though on the said old cab mount ear for front fenders I need some pics plz!!!!

Re: Cab differences???
Regular cab R/V style was available up to 1989 in 3/4 and 1 Ton versions
The C/K style 3/4T and 1T took over in 1990.

I think I found it... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=287 2nd and forth pic shows a flat area like rusty looking that has a hole in it for like where a bolt of body clip for a bolt goes. I don't think the 81-87's have that and that's the ear he was talking about above. the 81-87's have a series of holes but they don't stick out as far as the others maybe? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...1&postcount=53 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...1&postcount=88
