disc to disc plumbing

just wondering what is the best way to plumb the truck with a disc/disc setup? i will be replacing everything, i will be running d52 calipers all the way around. can i just use a standard disc/drum master from a 72 and put a disc/disc prop valve. what do ya guys think? any and all info would be great.

daniel, go back 1 page in the top right side it says search this forum, click on it & type in disc to disc brakes also here's a couple of links to play with good luck

you can call summit and jegs their great for tech help speedway is so so and LMC is only a parts house but have agreat deal i have ordered from them a number of times they might have all what u need

you need the correct master cylinder and proportioning valve for disc to disc brakes and the booster

just for clarification, i want to know if it is possible to just run a disc/disc prop valve off of the master that was designed to run a disc/drum. i want to make it as simple as possible. i want to know if i need to change the master to a disc/disc and the prop valve. do i need to just run the disc drum setup and put an ajustable prop valve in the rear line. i have a little knowledge on these setups and have searched. just want to know what people have done and the best way of doing it. thanks again daniel.

im not all positive here but i would say you would need bigger bore m/c for pressure to 4 wheel disc brakes if you dont get anymore replies here i would call jegs or summit they know there stuff also i did a search in the archives and didnt find anything ill try to search other areas

I would say YES.
Some people run a disc/disc prop valve and an adjustable proportioning valve in the rear line.

I looked in my Performance On Line catelog and it shows the prop valve as being the only difference between disc/drum and disc/disc.
Some say the reservoirs in the M/C need to be the same size on disc/disc brake set ups,... like the old 68-72 Corvette M/C.
I don't think it matters since the rear caliper pistons are so much smaller/

I highly recommend an aluminum M/C.
They don't cost that much more and eliminate the need for painting and watching them rust a year later.

i was looking at the online cat. also. it says the aluminum master is for manual brakes, can a booster just bolt up to it to make it power?

I'm not sure if they are the same m/c.
It may only require a different length pushrod.
I would call them and ask.
