Picture's of a 2/4 drop?

My truck was lowered when I bought it and have no idea what the drop is. The bag system in the rear looks to be a homemade job which leaks badly and will not level out. I've ordered a complete 2/4 drop kit from CPP and would like to get an idea of what the finished product will look like. Can someone post some side pics of a 2/4 drop on a 67-72 swb for me? Thanks.

Thanks. Cypress, TX? Grew up in Spring...

My problem is not knowing the current drop. I'm replacing springs/shocks/hardware...not the spindles. What if I have 3" or 4" drop spindles and install these 2" drop springs and shocks? What would that do to my geometry? How can I determine the how low the truck is currently so that I get the appropriate height spring kit?

Sorry for the poor quality pics....foggy here this morning. What would you guesstimate based on these photo's? Oh ya...it's 28" ground to top of fender well radius and 11" ground to bottom of front roll pan. Any help's greatly appreciated.

My "guess" is you have either a 2.5" or 3" spindle on the front along with a shorter spring. I will speculate that the PO may have cut or heated the stock coils in front. If you can get a closer look at the Spindles we might be able to determine what you have.

You look alot lower than a 2/4 now.

trucks looks much lower than a 2/4 right now, but the suspension pics say otherwise. I know my truck either has a 2/4 or 3/5 and the bump stop in the front is real close to hitting the stop above it, although yours is missing it appears.

in your suspension pics, is there a load on the suspension or not? doesnt appear that way

Those are not dropped spindles.

Appears the springs were heated as well as possibly cut.

The PO removed the bump stop from the lower control arm.

You need a new boot on your tie rod end.

No load in the pics....the close up of the spring looks cut to me. Do the spindles look stock? I'm hoping to be able to install the 2" drop springs and shocks...get an alignment and be good. Pipe dream?

I don't think that's a pipe dream at all. However a 2" spring is not much of a drop and considering the bumpstops are cut off the lower control arms, you may be lower than that already. At any rate, drop spindles could be added later to bring it down another 2.5 or 3 inches if desired.

Excellent! That's what I was hoping to hear. I'm actually looking to raise the truck a little so cool with that too. New boot, bump stop.....

Those springs have been heated for sure. (possibly cut also)
Standard spindles.

I'd say a 2" spring will raise your truck.
Either way you need to get those springs out.
Drop spindles would help.
Looks like the lower shock mount on the a-arm had been removed also

I don't necessarily see a problem with how the shock is mounted, but personally I would find some stock lower arms or buy some aftermarket pieces for piece of mind.

I hear you. Probably best to do while I have it broke down for the new springs too.
