1972 gmc 6in lift and 38s custom

For those who love lifted

I have been working on this truck for going on seven years, it started as a 1972 gmc 2wd long bed i built it in high school once in my signature what it looked like first it had the suburban frame and running gear then. In college i took it apart again in a two year auto body class and got to tear it down my second year unfortunately, i didn't have the time to finish i got hired as a body tech in Nebraska, so my boss is cool enough to let me work on it after hours. Here is what i have got done so far completely striped frame powder coated, blasted and rebuilt axles, painted cab painted with PPG envirobase. The bed is ready for paint it is a rust free fleet side, The doors are close just doing final fitment. I got a cowl hood, also plan to get it all fitted this weekend, and get some more paint on it soon it is sitting on a 1991 Chevy suburban frame shortened three foot and on a 6 in lift and 38 x 15 in tires. I will be putting in a 383 tbi and all the goodies it had a 350 tbi just think i need more power it will basically be a show truck no mud for me OK maybe a little.

Thanks Dennis

Here are some pics

What did you do for your body mounts? Does the truck have a body lift? Do you have any pics of the set up? The truck is looking amazing and that's the size of tire i would like on my truck too.

Very nice job and I love the wheel and tire combo on there. way to go keeping it a GMC as well. You just don't see many GMC 4x4's anymore.

I think some guys are running a carb vortec intake with a throttle body adaptor... much cheaper than the vortec TBI intake. Nice build!

If you look on one of the back of the wheels, it should be on one of the spokes. The Diameter, width, and back spacing is all on there. Sometimes it's on the mounting face too though.
