How do I tell a long water pump from a short water pump on a Big Block? Where do I measure from and what's the lenght.

Thanks for the pics. I'd still like to know the measurements. The pump I'm looking at is off the motor so its hard tp tell.

Long water pump (from block to pulley mounting surface) for a small block = 7"; for big block = 7-1/4"

Short water pump for a small block = 5-5/8"; big block = 5-3/4"
