My 1978 custom deluxe
Heres my recent purchase, Since i have no kids, Or girl now i bought this hunk of coal, looking for a diamond. Its a 78 custom deluxe. Didn't really know what i was really gonna churn out yesterday, but i was off work and had bought 10 cans of Rustoleum Primer earlier this week here goes nothing.
front driver side rear She was in a very dilapidated condition when i brought her home a few weeks ago Next is after body repairs and <3 Jasco <3 And about 4 hours of spraying. Yes i realize that the bed still needs sprayed(Using Rusoleum bed liner for it) along with the roof is lacking the last layer of black Primer. closer shot of the tailgate Driver side after Frontish view and dead on Still have alot of work to do like level the front bumper, Replace door pins (yes i know they are saggy), Take those god awful mirrors off. And replace them with some of the rounded side sport mirrors, Gotta match my headlights. The paint scheme i am going to Run with is more than likley Metalic Green where the black is and Silver where the gray is. And no worries everyone i might be 26 but i am a rodder at heart. aka no "ballin big rims". Rubber bands are a no no in my book. |

My Big Blue after 4 hours of fun
front driver side rear Size profile before Jasco Rust remover/ Primer used. Notice all the Cancer. Poor ole gal needed chemo The engine compartment was not too bad besides the fact the old guy didnt know what a gasket was. after cleaning She was in a very dilapidated condition when i brought her home a few weeks ago Next is after body repairs and <3 Jasco <3 And about 4 hours of spraying. Yes i realize that the bed still needs sprayed(Using Rusoleum bed liner for it) along with the roof is lacking the last layer of black Primer. closer shot of the tailgate Driver side after Frontish view and dead on I would appreciate any critiques You have to offer. I'm thinking of doing Black and Hunter Green, Instead of the Blue and white. I haven't seen the color combo And i have been actively searching different paint styles. I also have questions on if we use the short valve covers or tall? or what is better in the long run. Im not looking at the stock options for long. I would like a mild cam and better intake & exhaust. Figure since im single and have alot of free time since im no longer in the military or supporting a spoiled 20 y/o i should have this project done soon. picking up a slide hammer later today to fix the diverside bed, and Gonna go to town on the front fenders now that i have killed the rust, Its time to replace more metal, So far ive taken care of the inner and outer rocker panels, floor pans, And cab mounts. Anyone else here in oklahoma? |

Just up 169 from you, lots of us here in OK actually, be sure to check out our OK section here on the forums.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...play.php?f=176 You must have rattle canned it last week when the temps were above freezing, otherwise you had a sloooooooow day of spraying. Not sure I seen that truck on CL or not, been watching pretty closely the last few weeks for squares.

Re: My 1978 custom deluxe
I just took some headers off my 87 I think they are laying in what's left of the 73 cab in the shop. I'll look tomorrow for you. I've been looking for a 73-77 stepper. Then again, I look at just about every square that ends up on CL, many of them in person. Not sure why I get my hopes all up for a "nice" truck priced at $400, my idea of minimal rust and straight body and others ideas of it.... seem fairly far apart usually. The last one I went and took a gander at, seems it was imported from like Michigan. I still don't know what was holding the cab on because it sure as heck wasn't the floor!
