What is the best method for cutting up the dash to install a flat din stereo. what tool(s) work best.

I have a die grinder, dremel, and jig saw and can get others if needed.

I've used a variable speed sawzall to make the rough cut, and the dremel to clean it up. Just measure a few times before you start hacking, and take your time

I cut the plastic bezel part with a knife on a soldering iron.
I always cut plastic this way 'cause it is so quick.

Mike brought up a very good point on using a soldering gun/knife to cut the plastic, you get a nice edge that way....and do what Bob said, measure 15 times before you cut!

Measure, and measure again, make sure it is right, and make sure that it is level, you may have a nice clean cut, but it'll look silly if it is crooked... Take your time with it, go nice and slow and you should be fine... I am probally gonna be doing the same in my 80 soon and I am really hoping I don't mess it up...
