front suspension questions

okay heres what i want to do.
my frame on my 71 has been wrecked and repaired in the front.
bent right behind the right front a-frame.
i bought my truck as a body with no motor or trans so i don't know how well this thing will do in the front end alighnment.
but i have a frame from a 69 model. but it need a rebuild in the
front end. bushings ball joints etc. my question is this.
is the front crossmember the same on a 69 and a 71?
i am hoping that i can use all the crap i have aquired for my 71
on the 69 frame and crossmember, and just order 71 a frames
with bushings and ball joints already installed.
any body here tried this? or maybe didd some parts swapping enough to know what will work and what won't ?
any help would be appreciated. thanks ,Tony
