69 Custom 30 seat upholstery? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a 69 Custom 30 wrecker and am a bit confused on the seat uphostery as to whether it's original. It doesn't look like the ones in the parts catalogs but does have the scroll pattern, it's just in the center. (see pics)

Did 69 have it's own unique seat covers? This is the "rare" 69 maroon color too making it really hard to find.

69 and 70 are the same design. Your seating surfaces should be a cloth. The seat covers that are readily available are 71/72 Cheyenne (all vinyl w/scroll on sides of seating surfaces) and Cheyenne Super (herringbone seating surfaces).

I think this is the original to the truck and is all vinyl. Maybe all vinyl because of it being a 1 ton.

In the catalog I'm looking at, they do list 69/70 seperate from other years but the pleats are running verticle where mine run horizontal. ?? (unless the catalog has the wrong picture)

From the 1969 Truck Data Book. My old Suburban had the Custom interior with cloth seat inserts.

I don't know which catalog you're looking at,but no one makes the 69/70 Custom cloth covers. No seats had horizontal pleats. Your's has had the cloth seating surfaces replaced. 10-30 all had the same features.

Try www.smsautofabric.com .The may still have some of this fabric. They also will do the covers for you. They do excellent work.

I have a 1969 CST/10 1/2 ton, Original maroon paint and interior. Not sure if this helps, but this is what mine looks like.

That seat is totally redone. 72freak had a '69 GMC Custom w/red interior redone by SMS. Or,at least he bought the fabric from them.

Agreed!! They just replaced the cloth inserts with that pleated materials. looks good to me...If you take it off and its not torn i will buy it!
