Could use a little advice...
So, I've found a sweet little 55 near my hometown.
The price is a little high, but it appears to be cancer free and original other than paint. I've got a 69 SWB with an LQ9, 4L80, bagged, discs, and all sorts of suspension goodies. The 69 is just too far gone in the body repair department for me to comfortable/happy with the truck. I'm really not too keen on investing in getting the body right. I'm considering buying the 55 and transferring the body to my 69 frame and drivetrain. I guess my questions are: Am I a fool to spend over 10k for a very solid truck just to transfer the body to another frame? How much $ would the original frame, engine, transmission, etc bring either together or parted out? How well would the body fit on a 69 frame? From what I've read there's a 1" difference in wheelbase. Thanks |

Re: Could use a little advice...
I think if all you want is the body and some of the frame parts to do the conversion you could find one for much less.
