I'm headed towards a gold truck! Too bad only the wheels are done so far. Hopefully there will be more progress in the next few weeks.

Re: How bout some GOLD trucks!!!!!

I clicked on this link thinking that you couldn't convince me that gold would work well on these trucks. Man, was I ever wrong.

I really like the stock fawn color, especially with the side trim and white accents.

SO true! I also didn't think that I would like this color. I love the second truck in the first post.

Re: How bout some GOLD trucks!!!!!

I knew I liked it, but I didn't know I NEEDED one. That first one is kinda like the first time I saw a girl in a tight sweater...
Here's my only contribution.

Re: How bout some GOLD trucks!!!!!

Just to clarify, some of those trucks are Saddle Poly.
That was the technical name for the color but that was
a 66 only color. It was metallic. Before 66 the closest
color to gold I am aware of was fawn.

This one is tuff to explain. Maybe saddle poly came out in late '65? Or is this a special order color? Would be nice if we could open the door on this photo and check out the paint code on the kick panel tag.

I have a catalog for the 65 trucks, and that exact panel is in it, in the two tone Fawn and White combo. That's the one I used for my decision before.
