two vss?
Hi I'm modding my own harness, well trying lol ( 05 6.0 4l80e ) I am following most the instructions on lt1swap, not sure on the difference, but will figure it as I go. I was wondering whey there is two vehicle speed sensors. From what I read he gets rid of one, I assume one is for the computer shift points, is the other for a speedo? I am planning on running a 91 burb electric dash so do I need the extra wire for that
Has any one found any lists of what wires are needed in my swap, most the ones I find are for a 5.3 4l60e are they pretty much the same thanks |

Re: two vss?
4l60e only has one, but the 80e has two and as far as I have found you need both. The one twards the front is the Input shaft sensor (ISS) and the one towards the back is the VSS. Might just be best to call the person you are going to have tune your computer and ask.

Re: two vss?
bark,
I have a 2005 6.0L (E40 computer). There are two VSS signals from the ECM. One goes to the ABS brake computer (C100 connector B11, yellow/bk). The other drives the speedometer (C100 connector C12, d-gn/wh). I use the last one to drive an abbott cable box to convert electronic to mechanical speedo to use the OE speedometer. Note that the ECM also puts the vehicle speed on the serial bus. I use a scan gage to diaplay the digital speed and use that while driving since it is dead accurate. TR
