TX HeatWave show....

Any one going to the Texas Heat Wave show next weekend? If tropical storm Claudette doesn't ruin things, I'm going to be there. Anyone else going...

Still plan to go. Having trouble w/my vision & trying to schedule an eye doctor appt first thing Monday am, so it will depend on that visit whether I'm riding or driving (visually challenged, Im sitting @ my work 'puter right now w/sunglasses). I could try & hitch a ride w/good friends.

I received my new mirrors, headlight switch knob, inner rear bumper brackets, license courtesy light, & tail lenses from ChevyDuty & installed everything yesterday. Depending on what time I leave work today, I'll try to get my shackles & c-sections done (vision permitting).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Scoti,
What's up with the peepers? Man that doesn't sound good at all. I hope it's nothing serious.

It sounds like you are getting your truck looking good. Man you gotta get that thing up there somehow. IOur trucks will look so cool parked together. Maybe you and Roger can ride together, and the ladies can come behind you. If I have to, I'll fly up, and drive you down, since Keith is glued to my drivers seat

I got a piece of metal in my left eye sometime last Fri/Sat (although I didn't realize it immediately). Had to go to the docs on Mon am & he got the needle out for some diggin'. He got the metal out, but in it's place was a rust ring. My eyes haven't been the same since. Bright or flouresent lights have been killing me all week so my left eye is still semi swollen. I need to go to an eye specialist just to make sure everythings right.

When is Keith driving down? I guess it would make sense to caravan there in case of any troubles (I've driven to Madisonville & back in mine, but that 'new' truck is unproven).

Yikes! I hope it all works out ok. Maybe it's just taking some time to clear up. Regardless, get your butt to the specialist and confirm that it's just slow to heal. Your eye sight ain't nothing to play with.

I just talked to Keith. He is coming here Thursday night, and we are going to Austin Friday morning. I may have to work for a bit before I leave, but we should be there no later than early afternoon. If you want to come down with Keith, call him and set it up. I'm not sure when he is leaving.

Yeah, it might not be a bad idea to have another truck around. If the 77 takes a dump (pun intended), he is going to look really silly riding the roadster beside the freeway....

hopefully, i will get to go. been a while since i have been to one. i grew up in austin and went to the first 3 or 4 before they moved it to the expo center.

scoti: i feel for you. on my 21st birthday, i was working on my 63 impala and i got a metal flake from my exhaust under my eyelid. that is a nasty feeling and your eye never stops crying. finally, got it out with my eyelid flipped over and a qtip with peroxide on it. doc said it would be ok, and it is.....

good luck!

N2TRUX, I'll talk w/Keith & discuss his timetable. He said Alton has the roadster right now so I haven't seen it yet. I'm going to try & go by his house today because he wants to see the truck w/the TTII's actually on it (I went by the shop yesterday w/the steelies & hubcaps still on it). It looks better now that the shackles took away some of the rake.

It's in Austin this weekend. It's the biggest show in the state and most of the south these days. Here's a link for more info-Texas HeatWave show

Scoti- Yeah, Alton is "supposed" to have idone t by Wednesday. Keith told him he will pick it up Wednesday if it's done or not. I haven't seen it since he finished it either.
If you want to come down Thursday evening with him, we have room here. You are more than welcome to stay too....

I appreciate the offer. Cheryl's daughter just got an invite to a pool party on Sat 7-18 that, according to Kelsey . . .... she 'really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really wants to go to', so it looks like I might be solo after all & could leave early if beneficial. We'll discuss it tonight.

Sorry fellas, I'll out of town this weekend. I wanted to take BADBOW too. I really wanted to try the burnout contest this year. Two used tires ready for some thrashing!!! Maybe next year so we can rally at my house after the show.

Did you see the guy with the bagged Harley Truck last year? He pulled up started his butn out, then dropped it on the frame. I guess he put the cruise control on, then he opens the door and steps out while it's still doing a burnout.

Too insane for me....

Scoti,
I know the drill. You met my 11 year old when we were up there. I am experienced in the pleeeeease program.

PM me, and I'll send you my number. We can get everything worked out. Talk to Keith first though, so you know what he is up to...

That would be the pot calling the kettle black, now wouldn't it? Just because I have been married longer than most of these guys are old, doesn't mean anything. It just means I got married when I was nine years old....

I have you know that they take very good care of me at the local hospitals. After a couple of visits you get the express card and your own room......

After looking at Scoti and the "nine year old" trucks I pulled the old 84 out, air'ed the suspension back up and got her running after her year long nap. I guess I'll start cleaning it up again and making headway on the bodywork......thanks to the both of you I will never get the Rambler going again

Well the only she that is major that I could think of stopping me is Hurricane Claudette. Kristi KNOWS I want to go really bad.

Hmmm, and add a Rambler and the bagged '84 mention in here makes it even more suspicious. It's Jay Leno isn't it!!!
