After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Thanks it's been a long wait for them. I think it was worth it though. Now to get the drums & Calipers done then move on to the new GPS speedo and all new dash parts!

Red calipers would look good, but I would just go with gloss black on the drums, I'm afraid red drums like you were mentioning would be too much.

Your truck looks great.

How low did you go with the suspension? 4/6?

If I'm not mistaken 2" up front and 4" out back. That's what I think the coils were anyway. The back drums will get some kind of coating but not sure what color yet. Calipers will be red for sure.

Unhappy Re: New Shoes for the 71

lolife99,

Got any pics of your front suspension?

I'll have some in a little while.

I'm also working on the rear end clearance problem with the new wheels and tires. I had a 1/4" or so. I'm adding a 1/4" shim to the back hub to see how it does. I may have to go back to wheel company and get longer studs installed to put more spacer on it as well. I hope with what I had and the 1/4" spacer will be enough!

brossow,
I know, I had to try it though, but it's just not going to work out right if I don't use the spacer.

The tires are fine just a little fuzz shaved off. I'm going back to the tire store in the am tomorrow and tell them about it.

I painted the rear drum just to see how it looks with a grey powder coat.

I hope so, too, but I suspect it will not be enough. If it were a leaf spring rear you'd at least have a chance, since that suspension travel is straight up and down. But the trailing arm rear has an elliptical travel. Couple that with body movement and you need more than 1/2" of clearance between the tire and body panels. Drive it and see, though -- can't do much more damage, as long as you're careful.

Me, I'd take it back to the tire shop and demand either new tires without rub marks and spacers or a complete refund. Barring that, I'd just suck it up and drop $40 on bolt-on 1" spacers so the backspacing is right once and for all, completely eliminating any chance of rubbing. In either case, I'd never use that tire shop again because either they flat-out lied or are utterly incompetent if they really guaranteed those tires wouldn't rub.

I'm going to see what they say. I probably want get anything done today since I'm leaving for my parents house but I'll keep this post updated when I do.
I called the wheels store and talked to the owner. He said bring it by anytime and he would make it right. Next week I plan to see how it does with the 1/4" spacer.
