Tonka II. The future Desert Fox Conversion...
I bought the truck in January of 2010 for 900 dollars. It had a 400sbc, Turbo 400, NP208 and 10 bolt axles. Since then, I've put a 6+3 lift on it, 35's, rebuilt the engine and threw a 12 bolt in the rear. Not to mention other Misc. Things such as lighting the visor, wiring, entire braking system, starting interior work etc etc. I rescued this truck from an idiot. It was a mess, and in some ways it still is, but its a good looking one at least. Hack job wiring, jimmy rigged this or that. It will be getting most of its body parts replaced. (if ANYONE can link me to a good place to get quality fenders that fit, please let me know. I want new fenders and such but not cheap re-pops) Hopefully by this time next year it will be a Desert Fox clone. Anyways, for your viewing pleasure:
Engine Specs 400SBC bored .40 over (408 I believe) Vortec Heads Mid Rise Air Gap Intake Speed pro pistons/rings/bearings Scat Pro Stock Rods Eagle Steel Crank Comp cam/lifters/pushrods/springs/roller rockers 750 Quadrajet The whole engine build including machine shop for heads and block was $2200 Projected 450-475 horse. I just need to get rid of these 3:07's...nasty things... Before Rebuild During: After Lift and tires. Bought 6 35's for 300 dollars. Heck of a deal. Still have those Aluminum rims but are now replaced with white Cragar Nomads Future: Last edited by DesertFox; 03-19-2011 at 05:06 PM. |
